Woman Arraigned in Barbie Fraud
A  woman appears in a Victorvile courtroom, charged with online Barbie doll fraud. The woman is accused of selling collectible Barbie dolls on line, taking in hundreds of dollars, and then failing to deliver the merchandise. She's facing three felony fraud counts. In a strange twist, her husband was taken into custody when he turned up at the Hesperia police station. He claimed responsibility for his wife's problems and then tried to slit his wrists.

Sears Pulls Plug on "Trench Coat" Dolls
Sears, Roebuck and Co. said  it stopped selling a doll garbed in a ski mask and trench coat that a few customers had complained resembled the killers in the Columbine High School shootings.   Jan Drummond, a spokeswoman for the Illinois-based retailer, said the dolls, outfitted with ski masks, black trench coats and shotguns, were part of a series of collectibles called "Heroes and Villain" and were included in the company's holiday "wishbook" catalog that was sent out at the end of August.

Ty Sues HolyBears, Inc.
Using teddy bears to help spread the Word of God apparently does not sit well with the maker of Beanie Babies® products. Pizza Hut Offers 5 New Halloween Collectible Toys
Pizza Hut, Inc. today announced its latest program for kids, Tricky Treaters. With the popularity of Halloween growing, the newest toys from Pizza Hut have a holiday theme: the Web Whirler, Count Candy, Eyeball Grabber, Rattlin' Bones and Rock 'n Ghoul. They are the newest toys available at participating Pizza Hut locations.

Silver Numbering on Retired Silver Series 3 Cards!

NEW PAGE ADDED - There is getting to be too much information on this subject to be posted here, so we created a separate page for this subject.  The information below and more is being moved to:

Angel sends in the latest update as we continue to investigate the reports of "Silver" limited edition numbering on some of the retired cards as opposed to the gold numbering that has been found on all previous limited edition cards. This is the special limited edition numbering on the back of the card, ie xxxx/3600.  Yesterday, Sheila was kind enough to provide information on 5 more silver retired cards.  The table has been updated.   Numbers that contain links will link you to the Ebay auction where you can bid on these cards if you would like to obtain one of these rare cards.  Looking at the table below one can theorize that lower number cards are in Gold, while higher number cards are in silver.  Silver numbering has only been found on Silver Retired Cards in Series 3 (so far).

Clubbie Buddies Easier to Order
Noel reports:
I called yesterday to order my Clubby and Clubby II buddies.   I am here to tell you that I dialed the number last night and got through - on the very first try!   It was a breeze!  In 15 minutes, I ordered all of my buddies, and had a nice operator to boot!  Tell everyone that there is hope - you can get through on the first try!

Bill Cosby is putting his custom Honda Accord on the auction block with the help of Yahoo!® Auctions (http://auctions.yahoo.com), a leading interactive commerce marketplace connecting buyers and sellers across the globe. The proceeds of the charity auction will be donated to Mr. Cosby's alma mater, Central High School in Philadelphia, to help fund the renovation of their Barnwell Library. Are Beanies Really Over?
Toy analysts do not believe Beanie Baby production will end suddenly and forever at the stroke of midnight. Despite a sluggish market, the Beanies still represent a cash menagerie. And there are signs, including an announcement by McDonald's that it will offer more Teenie Beanies with its Happy Meals come spring, that the line will keep on humming. More likely, a slightly modified, renamed version will be introduced to get the new millennium off to a toy-mad start.

Silver Numbering on Silver Series 3 Cards!
We continue to investigate the reports of "Silver" limited edition numbering on some of the retired cards as opposed to the gold numbering that has been found on all previous limited edition cards. This is the special limited edition numbering on the back of the card, ie xxxx/3600.  I know for a fact that the silver number exists as I have the Silver Splash Card listed below which was purchased in a sealed box of cards from a Ty dealer.

If you have a Series 3 Retired Card, please check the back of the card and look at the limited edition numbering.
(xxxx/3600).  If you have a silver retired card, either with gold or silver numbering, please send the name of the retired card and the card number (xxxx/xxxx) and the color of the numbering to: silvernumbers@sierrascollectibles.com   I am trying to determine to what extent the silver numbering exists.  If you have any Series 3 Retired Card with silver numbering, please also email me at the above address.  I am interested in primarily "Silver" retired cards at this point, but that is not to say silver numbering doesn't exist on other retired cards.

3 Clear Cards found in 1 Pack!
I bought 10 packs of cards today from a toy store in Mystic, CT, and one of
my packs was rather unusual.  I didn't realize it when I was grabbing the
packs from the box, but when I got to the car to open them up, one of the
packs was extra thick.  When I opened it, I found not one, not two, but three
clear cards! Teal beanie Quackers, teal buddy Squealer, and magenta beanie

To date all numbering on limited edition cards has been in Gold. We now have sources that have reported Silver Numbering on the Series III Ty Trading Card Silver Manny. This is the speacial limited edition numbering on the back of the card, ie xxxx/3600. Noel reports their own Series 3 Silver Manny Retired card #1855/3600 has Silver Numbering not Gold. They were able to also find another Silver Manny Card #3273/3600 on Ebay that also reports silver numbering. Is the silver numbering limited to silver retired Manny cards? I've just come back from a large TRADE SHOW here in BIRMINGHAM UK where TY had all the new beanies and buddies on display !!!! They look great.

GROOVY & WALLACE are made of a fabric similar to Fuzz. Groovy is tie-died and Wallace green with a Tartan scarf.
Ty 2K is white with 'tickertape' coloured squares
HOLIDAY BEAR is a superb pale blue with white snowflakes all over. I thought it looked really cool.
SHEETS is like Spooky but with a white sheet over it and a ghostly face - not sure about this one.
Chipper, Scaly, Slowpoke & Honks all look good with a different fabric and look to them. Scaly for example actually stands up on its four legs.
BUT the real winner is THE END Bear. All black with a gold bow-tie around its neck and gold fireworks embroidered on its chest. It does not have a birth date and as you will see the poem leaves everyone guessing.

E-Beanies not just a Rumor
Are E Beanies next on Ty's List?  A search of the Us Patent and Trademark Office shows Ty has applied for many trademarks including E Beanies, E Baby, E Buddy, E Babies,  E Bear, Bean E Bears, Bean E Buddies, and more.  Could an E-Beanie Line be introduced in 2000?

Ebay Pulls the Plug on Kidney Auction
Online shoppers bid more than $5.7 million for a human kidney offered on the Internet auction site eBay before the company intervened to block the illegal sale, officials say.   The item, advertised as a "fully functional kidney", was put up for sale last week and had pulled a top bid of $5,750,100 before the online auction house pulled the plug.

Beanie Baby Retirement Announcement Buzzing
The message -- "all Beanies will be retired" -- came in a flash on Ty Inc.'s Web site and then disappeared, startling and confusing the Beanie Baby collectors.   Could it be that the Oak Brook, Ill., toymaker is really bringing an end to the Beanie Baby, one of the hottest toy crazes of the decade? Or is it just a marketing ploy?   Either way, toy experts say company president Ty Warner is likely to revive a market that has steadily been losing interest in the cuddly animal toys.
