Ty
Trading Cards - Series I - Premier
Edition
Beanie Collector
Cards Overview
There are 149
Ty Trading Cards often called Ty Beanie Baby
cards in the Premier Edition
(Series I) of Ty's Official Collector's Cards.
There are eight different box inserts (large
cards that change color from black and white to color when the slider is pulled) and eight
different Puzzle cards. Cards numbered 1-9 are the Original Nine cards.
Cards numbered 10 through 24 are the Retired Cards. Cards numbered 25 through 49 are the
Birthday and Rookie cards. Cards numbered 50 through 149 are referred to as "
regular" or "common" cards.
Ty Warner signed one of each card and they are
marked 1/1.
Cards numbered 1
through 9 - The "Original Nine"
These cards have the same names as the "Original Nine" beanie babies and are
referred to as semi transparent plastic cards or the "plastic cards".
There are four variations of colors (red, blue, silver, & Gold). The color differences
are seen in the words "original nine". Each of the 1-9 cards are individually
numbered (these vary from 1/112 to 8840/8840). Some of these cards have been
reported with no numbering at all, but to my knowledge, these "error" cards
occurred only with the "Blue foil" original nine cards. These un-numbered
cards have been selling for the less than the numbered cards.
Ty Warner allegedly signed one of each card variation
(1-149) and are marked 1/1.The ty cards market is too new to know what will be the
"Dark Blue Peanut" of the collection at this point. My Guess? Spot
Original 9 Card Gold 1/1 signed by Ty Warner. 2nd guess, yep the Royal Blue Peanut -
Gold 1/1 signed by Ty Warner. Any "Ty" Signed card should bring a
substantial price as will any of the gold cards. Look for the original 9 gold cards
to bring the highest prices of the "Gold" cards.

15 Retired Cards
(cards 10-24) -
There are four variations of color foil (red, blue, silver, & gold) The color foil
differences are the round retired stamp on the top right of the card. The hardest
card to get in this group is Peanut, the Royal blue elephant.

Odds of any retired card - 1:7 packs
Here is the breakdown for the different Retired cards:
Red
Odds 1:12 packs
Blue Odds 1:24 packs
Silver Odds 1:48 packs
Gold : only 150 made
Below is the odds of getting any specific card in a pack
of cards. This was calculated based on the number of each card on a sheet of 100
cards. This information was obtained from an auction of an uncut sheet of 100 cards
on ebay. Prices that these cards are selling for on ebay also would confirm that
Goldie, Lefty, and Teddy are the easiest ones to find and Peanut Royal Blue being the
hardest.

25 Birthday/Rookie Cards (cards 25-49)
There are also four variations of color foil on these
(red, blue, silver & Gold) The color foil differences are the beanie names on the card
and the animal type. The blue sort of fades from a light blue to a silvery blue. The
Silver is very solid silver (ie no blue tones at all). Some people have troubles at
first in determining a blue vs silver card. Once you have a silver card you will
know it - it is pure silver - no blue tones. The two hardest cards to get in this
group appear to be Tabasco and Ty-Dye Lizzy.

Error Cards
As with all errors in the ty collection many go for less
than a pristene example, but some error cards have been known to actually bring a
substantial premium (Very few card errors have been reported and some are so minor, that
one would want to consider the degree off error before actually purchasing). Some of
the more interesting error cards are shown below:

Scoop over printed on Glory (Close-up on the Right)
Scoop over printed on Glory was SOLD for $25.00 (at Ebay #52238821) Not a bad price considering the rarity of
this card (It may indeed be the only "scoop" over printed on glory in the
world!)
